The disciples faced with 5000 men (not counting women and children) could come up with only 5 loaves of bread and 2 fish.
King Jehoshaphat’s Judah was attacked by a vast army.
Moses who was incompetent in speech was called by God to address the most powerful ruler in the earth, Pharoah, to let His people go.
Joshua was called by God to step into the shoes of Moses to lead the ever complaining and stiff necked Israelites into the promised Land.
David was hemmed in the cave of Adullam as He was pressed from one side by the blood thirsty King Saul and from the other side by the vengeance seeking King of Gath.
The Bible is a real account of real people who like us today faced real challenges; some which seemed insurmountable. However, we are privileged to see how it all turned out for them.
It’s all in the simple element of trusting the Lord. Like David, before your challenges, assure your heart that the Lord is with you. Sing Psalms of praise for the Lord’s mercy endures forever like Jehoshaphat and Judah did.
Lean on the Word of God like Joshua did and ignore the contrary voices of complaints, depression and contempt. Like Moses, see the Lord’s power perfecting your weakness and giving you a voice where you had none. Most importantly, see Jesus for He is your sufficiency. In His arms, your 5 loaves and 2 fish can feed the multitude with leftovers.
