Quit worrying about tomorrow (when that big break is going to come, where you’ll end up in the next ten years etc.) or languishing in the events of the past (why things happened the way they did, why you did what you did etc.). Life is NOW. In the HERE and NOW is where the true rhythm of life is heard. Don’t allow the anxieties of the future and the regrets of the past obscure the wonderful life available to you NOW. Wouldn’t it be a shame to have a wonderful life but not realize it?

No two days are equal. They are unique in every way and present their own opportunities. Sleeping at night ought to be an act of self-purification and cleansing where we let go the attachment to yesterday and all its events especially the hurts, disappointments, failed attempts and resentment. Each waking day is sacred and should be embraced with an adventurous soul that has been liberated from the chains of yesterday.

What shall it profit a man to gain the world but lose his soul? What benefit is to be gained by rushing through a field of roses without taking the time to take in the aliveness of their bright colours and the heavenly smell that fills the air? You aren’t here for just the journey; but the roses and the beauty of all creation also.

Being against yourself doesn’t make life any easier. You may not like a few (or a lot) of things about yourself but self-resentment is the highway to misery no matter how much you change about yourself. Practice self- compassion. Be graceful to yourself whenever you misstep. It is perfectly ok. You’re learning, you’re growing.

No one owes you anything. If someone goes out of their way to say or do something nice for you then it’s definitely something to be grateful for. When you forgo any entitlement mentality, you’ll realize that you have a lot to be grateful for. Count your blessings.

No man (or woman) is insignificant no matter their social status. All men are masterpieces of the Creator; they proceed from Him and are connected to Him. Thus what it means to truly honour the Creator (God) is to esteem fellow men as His reflection.

When you forget that life is a full contact game, everything will be a matter of life and death and you’ll soon find yourself limited by the fear of anything that looks like a threat. This is the game of life. You’re not assured of success at every turn but you can be sure that with every effort made, there’ll be a surge in adrenaline that will cause you to relish each passing moment.

For love to flourish, there must be space- space for others to feel at home and be comfortable in their own skin. Imposing your perspectives on others only makes them a shadow of who they truly are, and makes you assume more control over them than necessary. Love them, correct them where necessary, and let them be.

If something doesn’t feel quite right to you, it’s okay to give it a pass. You’re not here to do everything but to do those things which resonate with you for in them lie your purpose. You don’t need the majority to agree with you. Take that little step of courage to say YES to what feels right to you, and NO or NOT YET to what doesn’t quite feel right.

Complaining makes even the sweetest of wine taste soar. When there is gratitude in your heart, it doesn’t matter what is in front of you, it all tastes pleasant.
