Salvation is Now

All I can do is write. To write more and think less, for the complex patterns wound by the mental activity of thinking only makes things harder than they really are. In moments when what appears to be your weakness stares you in the face and your mind accusingly points at you, to where can you turn? When you feel small, frail and emotionally isolated, into what can you plug to have a sense of oneness, safety and worth? A place of refuge is all the soul seeks in such times.

In a mental world that seems to be influenced by a plethora of both conscious and unconscious factors, I’m often left in bewilderment at some of the experiences I have, that too with the least provocation. Like how shame and a sense of inadequacy takes over when I’m unable to live up to my expectations of self-expression and interpersonal relationships.
But I have come to see life as moment to moment. It is a moment’s time, then is gone forever. Hence being in the flow of life means living moment to moment. Not allowing the heaviness of the past moment to obscure the brightness of the current moment. For in every moment, life manifests all there is. All I see is NOW, that’s all there is and will ever be.

Someone once asked the piercing question, “When in your life have you ever experienced your past without it being just a thought about your past?” And the simple answer is ‘Never’.
We literally have to drag along some event from months, days, weeks or even hours ago from wherever into NOW via thought or memory in order to experience them. Why can’t we just go back into time and relive them? We can’t because what we call past no longer exists. It did exist at some point in the NOW but not any longer. Our relationship with the past will be reformed when we really see this fact. Considering this also makes each moment of life both empty and full, all at once. Empty because it is rid of the illusionary control of the past and full because you are alive to all of the limitless opportunities of life.
