Your Problems and You

What if what you feel at this moment isn’t the problem?
What if what you went through, are going through, and will ever go through aren’t either?
‘Then what is the problem?’ you might ask.
And I respond by asking, ‘must there be a problem?’
Must there always be something wrong that needs your immediate attention and touch of correction?
What if the real culprit, I mean the real problem, is that you go around thinking there’s a problem?
Life isn’t perfect, they say, but who defines perfection anyways?
Is it the earth-bound mind with all its biases and preferences?
The same that is subject to conditioning from sources it is often oblivious of?

What if life were perfect, already as it is but just that we think the contrary?
What if what we call problems are actually opportunities- blessings in disguise- waiting to be embraced and harnessed?
What if what we think makes us miserable is actually what beautifies us?
And how quick we are to mistaken that beauty for misery!
So I ask again, what is your problem?
What is that which upsets your heart and burdens your mind?
Can you in a moment of child-like dumbness enquire about this…?
Why do you consider that issue a problem?
If you didn’t consider it a problem, how different would your life be?

Would it make sense to invest all that time and attention into overcoming your problems?
I bet you would go on with your life regardless and live the life of an overcomer.
Living the life of an overcomer without fighting a war… sounds absurd, right?
But we forget that the recognition of our “problems” as a non-issue is in itself a battle won.
Once you think differently about your problems this way, they seem to work overtime.
They begin to show all their nuances in a bid to give us a myriad of reasons to worry.
That’s a myriad of arsenal thrown against us.
Tell me if surviving this onslaught is something to be taken for granted.
It’s about time you appreciated your resilience and quiet tenacity in this game of hearts and minds called life.

Problems are just thoughts, mindsets which always propagate themselves.
They exist because we are fixated on our own expectations, which are not actually ours.
What they actually are are the results of generations of conditioning handed us.
The ground on which the towering edifice of problems is built is fickle.
The problems themselves look ginormous but at the root, they’re caving in.
The caving in experience come as glimpses of freedom which ease our discomfort and pain.
In conclusion, when we see that the problem is not really the problem but our perception is, we’re free from the vicious problem- solution cycle.
