In a cause and effect module of life
Everything seems tied to something
Something is always responsible
When we blame others, we become resentful
When we blame ourselves, we feel guilty
How about taking the “b” Word off the table
To see what is beyond resentment and guilt?
I bet it’s something close to forgiveness and acceptance
Forgiveness releases us from the constricting influences of offenses
And acceptance opens up space within to accommodate life
Without resistance to what already is
Perhaps beyond blame lies understanding
The quiet realization that everyone carries unseen burdens
That people act from their level of awareness
And sometimes from wounds they do not even understand

Beyond blame, the heart softens
No longer chained to the endless search for who is wrong
But awakened to what can be learned
There, peace slowly begins to bloom
Not because pain never happened
But because we stop turning pain into a lifelong prison
And maybe freedom begins there
In meeting life without accusation
In allowing each moment to teach rather than harden us
For beyond blame is a deeper wisdom
One that chooses growth over bitterness
And presence over the heavy weight of judgment.
