Letting Go

Spontaneous poetry

Theme: Love

You’ve been my dream all this while but you never knew
The missing half of the split medallion now found
Whether this is love or mere infatuation, one thing remains
I want to know you some more

You’ve become to me more than a person
You’re an experience, a blissful one
Although you may now know
But it wouldn’t kill a hurting man
To tell you how precious the minutes he spent with you were

I’ve never been in such a state
And never would I have bargained for this
But why is this happening?
Why are you so close and yet so far?
Or maybe God cannot trust you with me now

If that’s the case then I’ll wait
I’ll wait for the day that you’ll trust me enough
To trust me with the pieces swept under the carpet
The day when silence will lose its voice
And fellowship will become the norm of the day

Till then…
I’ll continue to dream about it
I’ll continue to think about it
Yet do nothing about it
I’m not sure if this marks the end
But it looks pretty much like it

I’ll just leave you to yourself
Not because I hate you or I’m angry with you
But I love you too much to see this love trampled underfoot
I’ll pick this love off the floor and hide it in my heart
Where it belongs, safe and secure

I’ll gently walk away to prevent it from being wounded further
And you don’t have to feel any remorse
And surely don’t pity me
I’ll hate to be the cause of your turmoil
That’s how it just turned out

I’ll try my best to move on
To get a life and keep hope alive
But if I relapse and fall back into your arms
Please remind me that I’ve got to move on

I believe we are at our best when our hearts and minds are at rest and not overly consumed by the complexities of life. Living is an art that we all need to have a handle on. That's what Restpiration is all about- Rest and Inspiration
